    Our Minister

Greetings in the Precious Name of Our Risen Savior!

First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the opportunity to view the Haileyville Christian Church website. You will see many things on our website such as: what's happening in our church, pictures, our church leadership, upcoming events, and many other things. My telephone number is (918) 429-9196 and I would be more than happy to pray with you for any need, large or small, or to answer any question you may have. The church's number is (918) 297-3214. Leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I am originally from a town that’s just walking distance from Boston called Everett, MA. I was the 3rd and last child born to Gorham and Marjorie Gould. I have a sister, Joy, who resides in New Hampshire with her husband Dan and three boys, Chris, Alex, and Eric. I have one brother, Steve, who resides in Mass. with his wife Marie and their son Matthew. My Dad and my Mom have been in the ministry for well over 50 years and are still going strong to this day. They still live in Mass. although shortly after Christmas they turn into snowbirds and head to their home in Lakeland, Florida till June 1st. As for me, I am happily married to an angel by the name of Irma who is originally from San Bernadino, California. Irma was in Missouri for a while and spent over the last 30 years in Northwest Arkansas. We have 5 children: Tara, Amiee, Matt, Thomas, and Joshua. All have finished school except Thomas and Joshua.

I attended Everett Public Schools, graduating in 1981. I attended Bunker Hill Community College in nearby Charlestown, Mass. before transferring to the Bryman Institute and graduating with a diploma in the Medical Assistant Program in 1988. If you looked at my resume, you would need a U-Haul to carry it. I worked in all aspects of retail, drove long-haul, and worked as a surgical tech/nursing assistant for over 12 years.

I felt the call of going into ministry, but couldn't afford to go to school due to raising a family and many other excuses. One day while teaching/preaching at my local church in Everett, an elderly woman by the name of Ms. Florence said I should go into the ministry like my dad. I gave every excuse possible. She gave a gift one day and that gift was for me to take some courses via correspondence and internet.

This eventually led to me receiving a B.A. in Religious Ed., a M.A. in Theology, and lastly a Doctor of Divinity. I was ordained in 1998 by the American Evangelical Christian Churches in Indianapolis 37 years after my dad was ordained. I have ministered in churches in Illinois (2000-2005), been a DJ on Christian Radio (Southern Gospel and Comtemporary) KJIR 91.7 FM, and preached on Christian television in Quincy, IL (2000-2003) WTJR channel 16. I also ministered in nearby Eufaula, OK (2005-2006) and more recently in Northwest Arkansas for the last 3 years before coming to Haileyville Christian Church.

I have my helpmate (Irma) by my side, and I’m loving the life the LORD gave me. I now want to know if it is the LORD's will for me to be like a tree that needs to take root. A long way from home, as the Bible tells us, "Our citizenship is not of this world...and that we are just aliens just passing through." The ultimate home for all who profess Christ as LORD AND SAVIOR is heaven for all eternity. Acts 2:38 says, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."  May God bless you and keep you in His everlasting arms this day. Please contact me with any comments, suggestions, or words of encouragement you may have to offer. As we work till JESUS returns!
